Mother's Day Reflection

I hope that all of you Mothers out there had an amazing Mother's Day. Being a Mom is one of the most rewarding and yet un-rewarded jobs there are!

I had a great day. My husband made lunch (and even went with all the kids on Saturday to get the groceries). AND he cleaned up the dishes, AND I was able to rest my weary body for awhile! It was fantastic. Best of all, I spent the day with the people who made me a Mom!

On Sunday night, I found some old videos that belonged to my Grandpa and Grandma Vander Laan. As I watched them, I realized that it's because of the faith, love and dedication of my Parents, Grandparents, etc. that I am able to provide a loving Christian home for my kids! Not only did that make me appreciate them more, but it made me want to be a better Mom. They are, after all going to grow up to be what they have seen in me. (Not that it's always good!) It's kind of a scary thought, but gave me a passion to live a better life. Not for me, but for Madelyn, Sophia, and Elliot. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!
